- OBITUARY:
Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Sunday, June 5, 2022, the death occurred of Edward "Eddie" McIver of South Freetown, aged 77 years. Beloved husband of Blanche (nee Walsh); loving father of Marilyn (Kayihan) Tarkan and dear grandfather of Meltem and Erdem Tarkan of Calgary, Alberta. Dearly loved and remembered by his surviving sisters and brothers; Maureen McIver, Charlottetown; Mary Brooks (Emerson), Montreal, QC and Rollo Bay, PE; Charles McIver, Newton; Pearle Flood (Pat), Newton; Linus McIver (Diane), Newton and Rita Lea (Russell), South Freetown; Dot McIver (Ronnie-deceased). Also, survived by sisters-in-law Maureen (Tom) Lawless and Marilyn Humberstone (Don Humberstone - deceased); brothers-in-law Vincent (Josie), Leo (Joan) and Frank (Loren). Predeceased by his parents, Hugh John and Mary McIver (nee Morris) of Newton; brother, St. Clair McIver and sister-in-law, Margaret Hughes, brothers, Louis, Rev. Gerard, Hugh McIver and cousins who were siblings-at-heart, Ronnie McIver; Arnie and Norma McIver. Also, predeceased by parents-in-law, Chester and Anne Walsh, brother-in-law Maurice and sister-in-law Lois. No visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Malachy’s church, Kinkora on Tuesday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Malachy’s Cemetery following the funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Prince County Hospital Foundation, St. Malachy’s Cemetery fund or a charity of your choice may be made.
