- Obituary published in The Guardian: The death occurred peacefully at his Loyalist Road home on Thursday, August 14, 2008, of Frank Ledwell, age 78 years. Beloved husband of Carolyn (nee Duffy). Father of Jane (Stephen MacInnis), Patrick (Tara Costello), Emily (Josie Cox), Thomas (Isabelle Ouellet-Morin), Daniel and Christian. Grandfather of Anna and Youdan. Survived by his brother, Tom (Darlene) and sister, Mary MacKinnon. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas A. and Anna (Gillis) Ledwell; his sister, Jean; brother, Richard; sister, Sister Catherine CSM; brother, William; brother-in-law, Reg MacAdam; sister-in-law, Claire (Griffith) Ledwell; sister-in-law, Adeline (Peters) Ledwell; sister-in-law, Mary Elaine (Trainor) Ledwell; and brother-in-law, John MacKinnon. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Tuesday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery, St. Peter’s Bay. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Ledwell’s memory can be made to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre or St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery Fund. Please note visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. and Monday 3 to 6 p.m.
