Robert Eugene McSweeney

-
Name Robert Eugene McSweeney - Robert McSweeney was the only child born to Mary Ann McKenna and Philip McSweeney. Robert was ordained in 1959 and was a Trappist Priest under the name of Father Placid.
In the monastery, Father McSweeney and the other monks produced jams and jellies labeled “Trappist Preserves” to help ensure that the monastery is self-supporting and not dependent upon donations. This was done in addition to the order’s main source of income, making liturgical vestments through the Holy Rood Guild.
