• Notes

  Michael Cletus, Clate as he was familiarly known, was born in Newton in 1920, the son of the Peter D. and Margaret Anne (McKenna) McIver. He attended school in Newton and later owned and operated a farm near the family homestead. In 1948 he sold his farm and moved to Lynn where he resided and worked with Hood Milk Co. for 27 years. He lived in Lynn for most of his working life except for a few years when he resided in Cornwall PEI. Always of a kind and jovial disposition, Clate will be remembered for his dedication to his work and as one who was always ready and willing to help in time of need. He died suddenly at his home in Lynn, MA on January 24, 1990, having developed complications from a blood clot. He is survived by his wife Teresa, a son, James and a daughter, Elaine.
