- OBITUARY:
Dr. Joseph Charles McIvor passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2025, in White Rock, British Columbia, at the age of 82.
Born on December 23, 1942, in Borden Prince Edward Island, Joseph dedicated his life to dentistry, serving his community for 43 years. His commitment to service extended beyond his profession, as he was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award—one of the highest honors bestowed by Rotary International—recognizing his dedication to placing "Service Above Self."
He was also acknowledged for his contributions to the White Rock community receiving the Citizen Award and the College of Dental Surgeons Award of Merit for significant contributions to dentistry.
Joseph's love for sailing aboard his boat, *Mytyme*, took him on remarkable journeys across the world. Among his most memorable voyages were those to Turkey, Sardinia, Alaska, and the west side of Vancouver Island, each adventure reflecting his deep passion for the sea.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Catherine (Wagler); daughters Jennifer McIvor (Scott Allen) and Marisa McIvor; grandchildren Takara Allen and Madeline McIvor; stepchildren Andrew Samuel Liau (Dolly Kwan) and Joseph D. Liau; step-grandchildren Joshua Samuel Liau and Samuel Andrew Liau. He is also survived by his brother Alan (Shirley), his brother-in-law John Reyno, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, William Joseph Parnell McIvor and Margaret Deighan, as well as his siblings Desmond (Marlene), Edith Reyno, and Clifford McIver.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Suncrest Retirement's Ocean Park Unit for the exemplary care and compassion they provided to Joseph in his final days.
