      Mary C. Swan (Kelly) of Milton, MA, passed away on January 15, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. Born in Boston, , a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully at her home in Milton, MA, Mary's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought into the world.

      A cherished soul, Mary was the beloved wife of the late Charles F. Swan. She was a guiding light as a mother to Cheryl Bennett and her husband John of Milton, Michael Swan of Milton, Marybeth Mayo and her husband Terence of Milton, and she held dear the memory of her late sons Charles "Chucky" Swan and Robert Swan, survived by his wife Cheryl Swan of Braintree. Her brotherly bonds with the late John "Jack" Kelly, James Kelly, and Sr. Winifred Kelly remained a source of strength and kinship throughout her life. Mary's legacy continues through her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who were the sparkle in her eye and her endless source of pride.

      Mary's early years were shaped by the close-knit community of Dorchester, where she attended St. Kevin's High School. Her education there laid a foundation of resilience and camaraderie that she carried with her throughout her life.

      Her dedication and strong work ethic were evident in her many years of service with the United States Postal Service. Mary retired as a Supervisor in 1992, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and commitment that inspired many who worked alongside her.

      Mary's infectious laugh and zest for life made her the heart of any gathering. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like shopping and playing cards with friends. As an active member of the Red Hatters, her outgoing nature shone bright, and she never missed an opportunity for fun and fellowship.

      To describe Mary as loving, kind, and funny only begins to touch on the remarkable woman she was. Her generous spirit and ability to find humor in every situation endeared her to all who knew her. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a refuge, and her wit a delight.

      Mary's love for her family was unmatched. She nurtured a home filled with laughter, support, and unconditional love. Her guidance and wisdom were the compass by which her family navigated life, and her memory will be a treasure cherished in their hearts forever.

      As we bid farewell to Mary C. Swan, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a legacy of love, and the countless memories she gifted to each of us. Her spirit, eternally vivacious and kind, will continue to live on through the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she so freely gave. Mary's life was a beautiful journey that touched so many, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

      Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton Friday morning at 10:00.
