- OBITUARY:
Mr. William H. "Bill" Furlong, age 56, of Lynn, died Friday at his home following a brief illness. He was the husband of Pat (Carmichael) Furlong with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late George D. and Julia A. (Gayron) Furlong. A graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1967, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed by the City of Lynn Department of Public Works for over 32 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 70 in Lynn and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division # 10. He enjoyed boating and summers in New Hampshire with his family. In addition to his wife, he leaves 3 sons; Patrick T. Furlong of Lynn and his wife Jennifer, George D. Furlong of Lynn and Kevin J. Furlong of Cambridge. 3 daughters; Kelly Pagliuca of Lynn and her husband Jeff, Jo – Anne Furlong of Lynn and Katie Furlong of Lynn. 1 brother; Robert ‘Bob’ Furlong of Lynn and his wife Jean. 1 grandchild Tyler Furlong. Son-in-law of Kay Carmichael. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George W. Furlong and Arlene di Cicco. Funeral from the Cuffe ~ McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Saint Pius V Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.
