  OBITUARY: BURD, William Richard Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Husband of Mary Frances and father to Russell (Hannah) of Toronto, Kenneth (Elaine) of Alberta, Lorraine of Alberta, and Brian (Joanne) of Peterborough. Survived by brother Paul (Jean), sister, Lillian Knaggs (Ted) and daughter-in-law Christine Burd, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Steven, father William George, and mother Jennie Mae. Bill retired from a distinguished career with Air Canada from 1948 to 1983. He enjoyed golfing and spending time at his cottage at Weslemoon Lake for many years, his second home. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Armour, Dr. J. Ingram, Dr. J. Beamish, the Emergency Staff, and Palliative Care staff. Cremation has taken place. Private interment. At Bill's request there will be no memorial service.
